For US, Canadian, UAE and Singapore employers exploring India-based hiring.
Start with the work, then the profile
Write one paragraph describing why the role exists and three outcomes expected in the first 90 days. A title alone leaves too much room for interpretation. Explain whether this is a new position, a replacement or part of a team build.
Separate the two locations
Record the company’s country and the employee’s work country separately. Add the city, office expectations and time-zone overlap. This keeps the recruitment discussion specific and prevents an India team requirement being confused with an overseas placement.
Define the evidence
Choose up to five essential requirements. For each, note the evidence an interviewer should ask for: a relevant project, a responsibility personally owned or a decision the candidate can explain. Keep preferences in a separate list so they do not quietly become rejection criteria.
Agree the decision process
Name the interview owner and final decision maker. Record the planned stages, assessment format and when feedback can realistically be provided. Confirm the approved compensation range and expected joining window before opening the search.

Share the brief with WSNE Consulting to discuss the recruitment approach. Recruitment scope and terms are agreed separately; employment arrangements and any local delivery requirements need to be clarified for the specific role.
A worked brief: cloud infrastructure architect
This is an illustrative requirement, not an advertised vacancy. An overseas employer needs an India-based architect to establish a cloud operating model. The brief could ask for an agreed architecture baseline, a prioritised resilience review and a documented handover plan during the first three months. Interviewers should ask what the candidate personally designed and which trade-offs they managed. Confirm actual office and overlap expectations before starting the search.
Reusable requirement checklist
| Field | What the hiring team should record |
|---|---|
| Outcomes | Three concrete results expected in the first 90 days |
| Essentials | Job-related skills and the evidence needed |
| Locations | Company country and employee work country/city |
| Working pattern | Office expectations, overlap and on-call requirements |
| Budget and timing | Approved range and realistic joining priorities |
| Decisions | Interview owner, stages and final decision maker |
Use this as a starting point and adapt it to the actual work. Separate facts already approved from questions still awaiting a decision.
